The Studio is located in Historic Savage Mill in Savage, MD. Savage Mill is a former textile mill built in 1822 converted into specialty retail stores, restaurants, artist studios and a great room for banquets and weddings. Bordered by the Little Patuxent River featuring many unique architectural features including ruins of the original power plant and a one-of-a-kind rail bridge that provide a wonderful backdrop to create unique images.
The studio itself is in the artist studio section, called the "Carding" building. It was designed around fashion, boudoir and figure-work but works equally well for family and childrens photos. It is a quaint, fanciful space featuring hardwood floors, high exposed-beam ceilings, huge arched windows with 2-foot window ledges, standard backdrops, a beautifully carved and appointed antique french daybed, a claw-foot bathtub, a church pew, an antique dressing table with large round mirror, two modern leather sofas, multiple chairs, etc, all designed as "sets" or props for creating different backgrounds for a variety of image options.
